On Saturday, October 12th, at approximately 8:27 AM, the San
Bernardino Police Department’s dispatch center received a report of a shooting in the 1100 block
of North Stoddard Avenue. Upon arrival, patrol officers located a male victim suffering from a
gunshot wound. Despite efforts to save his life, the San Bernardino County Fire Department
pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. Homicide detectives were promptly called in to
conduct the investigation.
During the Investigation, detectives identified the suspect as Wesley Parker Weltch, 46 years old,
resident of San Bernardino. On October 21st, 2024, at approximately 6:00 PM, Weltch was taken
into custody in the 2500 block of West Foothill Blvd. Detectives are attempting to identify any
additional witnesses that may have been in the area when the shooting occurred.
