San Bernardino, Calif. – Five were arrested for Driving under the influence and fourteen citations were issued at a DUI checkpoint on February 3, 2023.
The DUI checkpoint was held at W. Baseline and Arrowhead Avenue from 6:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m.
Twenty drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license, and 537 vehicles were contacted during the checkpoint. One person was arrested for possession of a loaded handgun. Fifteen vehicles were impounded.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off the roads.
The next DUI checkpoint will be held on February 17, 2022.
