San Bernardino, Calif. – 1 driver was arrested for Driving Under the Influence and 78 citations were issued at a DUI Checkpoint on April 12, 2024.
The DUI checkpoint was held on the 1100 block of E. Highland Ave. from 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. 46 drivers were arrested for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license. 746 vehicles were contacted during the checkpoint and 16 vehicles were impounded.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related collisions. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
